Golfview Village Meets the Needs of Current and Future Residents

Golfview Village, formerly housing for enlisted personnel at Chanute Air Force Base, is one of Rantoul's many success stories.  Located on Willow Pond Golf Course in South Rantoul, the housing community is home to 435 families living in town homes, condominiums, and duplex homes.

Recently Golfview welcomed its 300th renter with a month's free rent, groceries and gift certificates to local restaurants.  Currently Golfview is well on its way toward its 400th renter.  Duplex home sales at Golfview have also been successful with sales of 102 duplex homes to date.

Golfview's success has come from the commitment of the owners, Kenneth and Lawrence Roessler of Rantoul and Kyle Robeson of Champaign, to adapt the community to meet the changing needs of residents.  Recent developments at Golfview include the opening of select town homes for sale as affordable condominiums, the addition of furnished rental town home units and the addition of a pet exercise area. 

The newly available condominiums at Golfview Village are spacious and affordable.  The units have been priced to make monthly mortgage payments less expensive than monthly apartment rent in many of the apartment buildings the county.  New owners are taking advantage of two-bedroom 1,015 square foot units starting at $29,900 and larger three bedroom 1,150 square foot units starting at $32,900.

Furnished apartments were added to house balloonists and staff at the U.S. Hot Air Balloon National Championships during the 10-day event.  The units will now be rented as furnished apartments, as well as short-term accommodations for corporate transfers and visiting executives from Champaign County's many industrial entities.  Employees transferring into the area in need of short- term accommodations will be able to stay in the spacious town homes while looking for a permanent home.  For visiting executives, Golfview Village will provide kitchen silverware, flatware and glasses, as well as bedding and towels for a convenient stay in the area.  Washers and dryers, coffee makers and other home style amenities are also included.

Golfview Village is one place where pets are welcomed.  As the apartment community is spread over a large area, a wing of the community has been set aside for dog owners.  Golfview has also recently added a 2,500 square foot fenced-in pet exercise area so residents have a place for their dogs to exercise and meet their neighbors.
