The Rantoul Library has a New Site!
This afternoon, Robeson, Roessler and Associates, LLC* finalized the sale
of the former Bowling Center building on the former Chanute Air Force base
to the Rantoul Public Library. The building's price of $400,000 represents
a donation of over $700,000 by Robeson, Roessler and Associates, LLC as
the building appraised at over $1,100,000.
The members of Robeson, Roessler and Associates, Kyle Robeson, Kenneth
and Lawrence Roessler, were concerned about the space issues facing the
Rantoul Public Library and felt that the former Bowling Center building
would be an ideal new location. The future library building contains
27,815 square feet of space and includes parking for up to 40 cars, with
room to expand. As the bowling equipment has been removed, the building
includes plenty of wide open space for the library to work with including
a natural circulation area already right inside the front door.
The future library, at 106 W. Flessner in Rantoul, will be close in proximity
to the Forum Fitness Center, the future Aquatic Center and a future park.
* Robeson, Roessler and Associates, LLC is a limited liability company
with Kyle Robeson as a 50% member and Kenneth and Lawrence Roessler
combining for 50% membership.
