When Bill McKinley Jr. moved into a townhome at Golfview Village in Rantoul,
he got a surprise. Soon after Mr. McKinley moved in, he found that
he had won a new color television. The new 27" color television was
given to Mr. McKinley for being the 450th resident of Golfview Village,
a rental townhome community in Rantoul.
Mr. McKinley, an avid golfer, moved to Golfview Village in Rantoul from
Modesto, California. In addition to liking the golfcourse location,
Mr. McKinley is impressed with his apartment in Rantoul. "I have
been very well received and have made friends with my neighbors, now I have
a new TV!"
"We like to do things like this for our residents", said Kyle Robeson,
Co-Owner of Golfview Village. "Whenever we reach a milestone like
this, we always like to do something nice for the resident that helped
us reach that milestone."
In the past, Golfview Village has awarded residents #200, #300 and #400
with prize packages which included gift certificates from Rantoul businesses. Prizes
included a combination of gift certificates from the Rantoul IGA, dinners
at Rantoul restaurants, Willow Pond golf passes and rent credits.
"We traditionally like to give prizes that familiarize residents with
facilities and businesses in Rantoul. Now that we are in football
season, we thought we would give away a color TV. We will also give
away something special to resident number 500."
Golfview Village in Rantoul has a total of 512 rental townhome units that
the owners, Triple R Development, LLC, renovate based on demand. As
demand has remained constant since the property was acquired in 1994,
Triple R Development, LLC has never stopped renovating.
"We receive a lot of positive word of mouth at Golfview Village. We
work hard to make this a community where people enjoy living and want to
stay. A variety of factors such as our square footage, rental rates,
golf course location, and the little things we do to keep our residents
happy, have made the community very popular," says Co-Owner Kenneth Roessler. "We
expect that we will have to determine what our prize will be for renter
#500 soon."
In addition to celebrating its 450th renter, Golfview Village has sold
143 duplex homes and 27 condominiums in the golf course community with
only 7 duplexes and 7 condominiums remaining to be sold. Overall,
627 townhomes, duplexes and condominiums are occupied at Golfview Village
in Rantoul.
