Launch Pad Discovery Center Opens in Rantoul

The Launch Pad Discovery Center, located at 103 Flessner Drive in Rantoul,
opened its doors on Monday, August 29. The Center provides children
between the ages of 5 and 12 with before and after-school child care during
the school year and a full-day summer program during the summer months.
The Launch Pad facility can accommodate up to 74 children and as a convenience
to parents, will provide transportation to and from Rantoul Public Schools
from its location on Flessner. The facility includes four large classrooms
with different programs and activities in each. Programs will cover
a wide range from art and recreational activities to assistance with school
homework. A large outdoor fenced area provides an additional recreational
component to the center. The Center also will arrange field trips
taking advantage of the nearby Rantoul Public Library, the Aerospace Museum,
the Aquatic Center and other off-site locations.
The Launch Pad Discovery Center is an expansion of Little Wings Childcare
and Learning Center located at 205 Frost Avenue in Rantoul. The opening
of Launch Pad has not only allowed Little Wings to increase the size of
the school age program, it has also created opportunities for additional
enrollment for infants and toddlers at the original facility.
The Launch Pad will conduct a public Open House on Thursday, September
